Medical Insurers Bet On Prevention, Not Treatment
When it comes to healthcare, many people have the tendency to focus on the treatment of illness, rather than prevention. While this can be a good approach in ensuring that you’re seeing the doctor on a regular basis (and thus, gain access to quality healthcare), it can also be wise to focus on the prevention side as well. For many people, focusing on quality rather than waiting for insurance to cover the full cost of healthcare seems like a much more attractive approach. Here are a few things about healthcare that seem to trouble many consumers: the endless endless bills associated with visiting the doctor; the inability to get an appointment for months; the humiliation of turning up at the doctor’s office and being told that your loved one has not showed up yet; the worry and stress of knowing when one will show up to take your insurance and when you will be expected to pay the bill. There are lots of elements that are involved here, and while we can’t all be rich, accessing healthcare is not a luxury we’re willing to deny. So where do we go from here to ensure that we’re getting the right treatment and that our fears are unreasonable, but also that we’re engaged in preventive healthcare, which is truly critical to our long term health?
While there’s a lot of talk about healthcare overall – and even some mentions of stem cell research – it’s important to understand that there are lots of things going on here, and some of them are not of the best possible interest of consumers. A few of those things are the high cost of healthcare, which is going to make even the smallest investments in wellness absolutely worth the cost. Of course, that inevitably leads to the next question – “what does healthcare insurance get out of the way?” In some cases, quite a lot. Lucky for us, our attention is drawn to the fact that many people have to go through weeks of discomfort in order to receive any form of attention at all. Not to mention the hassle of traveling to appointments and the subsequent waiting afterwards. Is this fair? Absolutely not. But the costs are spread out so that the consumer doesn’t have to worry about vast Spending account (so that’s not necessary). As for better outcomes, science is still weighing in and supporting the belief that there are certain types of treatments that better doctors are able to provide. While some types of choices carry higher risks, there are plenty of examples where it appears that the outcomes are superior to those decisions to opt for the less- meticulous care.
Then, there are the payment alternatives. Many of those who opt to go to widely-recommended chiropractic clinics or to see what a newly-recommended doctor has to say about whether or not a patient’s funds are worth the time and effort that goes into making them. While it’s nice to know that so many people are more than willing to spend what it takes to makemia well, it’s also worth knowing that there are numerous ways to save without compromising efficacy. In fact, consumers are often surprised by what chiropractic care can offer in terms of cost and outcome.
There are other elements that most people are far more interested in, such as the potential for better results, the satisfaction received, the convenience of just having something convenient to do instead of reading endless forms or waiting altogether. While it seems that only the cost of a medical supply is able to hold a person’s attention for extended periods of time, other elements in a clinic environment like cleanliness, Student Health Services provided by the school clinics, information boutiques and the opportunity to ask the receptionists questions, are far more valuable.
The aspects of the healthcare industry which many don’t want to think about are the hours spent with patients and the possibility for too much “risk-covering” by doctors and hospitals, the lack of service and care in urgent care centers and lack of access to community healthcare providers, and the differences between primary-care physicians and consultants. In other words, the tension and risks associated with being a patient is something that many doctors are uncomfortable talking about openly. However, it is also something that can be prevented.
tearing beginning of the modern chiropractic era brought a practitioner like Quack forward and he paved the way for others to follow. Today, chiropractic is one of the few areas of healthcare that is still open when it comes to non-traditional ways of being in the business, including Holistic Practitioners, who are “holistic,” meaning that they believe the body is truly self-healing but have medical training. Practitioners such as Dr James C.ogsmore, D.C., who published The Holistic Pediatrician: Working With Infants and Toddlers, emphasize that they are “complementary and alternative practitioners who believe that the study of children is an interesting and rewarding avenue.”
